Logistics, VC Offa Wins Legacy Volleyball Championship


It was jubilation in the indoor sports hall of the National Stadium, Lagos, following the victories of Spikers Logistics Volleyball Club and Volleyball Club, Offa, in the 2022 Legacy Volleyball Championship.

The sixth edition of the tournament aimed at accelerating the development of volleyball in Lagos, was organized by the president of the Legacy Volleyball Club, Kayode Ladele, with the support of the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC).

It was an interesting matchup between Team Legacy and Logistics, with Logistics losing the first set before wresting a 3-1 victory from the hosts.

Offa Ladies was the women’s champion as they continued their group stage winning streak, knocking out Legacy 3-0 in the semi-finals before their 3-1 (25-23,22-25-, 25-20, 25 -18) final triumph over Elite.

Legacy and Elites went home with N500,000 each after finishing as first runner-up in both the men’s and women’s events.

Commenting on the championship, Lagos State Sports Commission Director General Oluwatoyin Gafaar said that the beauty of volleyball has been witnessed and what the players demonstrated has shown that the game is improving without a doubt.

Legacy Volleyball Club President Kayode Ladele said that the essence of the competition is to breed players and teams that can compete successfully at the international level.
