Maccabi Tel Aviv tonight (Tuesday) recorded its first away win of the season in Europe with 71:77 over Milan from the bottom of the Euroleague table, which recorded its ninth loss in a row. The yellows came back from a double-digit deficit in the third quarter with a 5:22 run in the last quarter on the way to an important victory and a return to a positive balance of 6:7 in the table.
Precisely after a good start by the yellows with a quick lead of 4:10, the Italians went on a 0:9 run, responded with a display by Timothy Luau Kebro (14 points) and went down in a tie 21:21 heading into the second quarter. Luau Kebro continued to show great ability and increased the Italian advantage until the end of the first half with 32:40, when Milan managed to hold Maccabi without points in the last three and a half minutes of the second quarter.
The second half stopped four minutes without a basket by the yellows with a 0:9 run led by Jarel Martin (13 points) and Lorenzo Brown (20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists) who once again recorded a wonderful game. Niccolò Meli (12 points) and Billy Baron (18 points and 5 rebounds) scored from a distance and gave Milan a double-digit lead, before Maccabi’s 0:12 run that recorded 59:59 heading into the last quarter. Maccabi’s 5:22 run in the fourth quarter gave them a lead that was maintained until the end on the way to an important away win in Italy.

Quarter 1:
Oded Ketch made the top five with Lorenzo Brown, Daron Hilliard, Jake Cohen, Austin Hollins and Josh Niebo. Brown started the game with a bang when he scored two 3-pointers, in between Niebo added four points of his own under the basket and the yellows took the lead 4:10 in four minutes. When Brown missed for the first time in the game, Niebo was under the basket to correct and after a rebound in the attack increased his balance to six points and the Yellows went up 6:12 with only two scorers so far. The Italians went on a 0:9 run that gave them their first lead of the evening. Braun continued the good ability with nice points in the paint, but Mitro Long kept the advantage on Milan’s side. Both teams were tied 21:21 at the end of the quarter.
Quarter 2:
Carl Haynes opened the second quarter with easy points in the paint, Jaylen Adams scored from the other side and Martin returned the advantage to the yellow side with a basket from three. Braun continued to assert himself, but saw Niccolò Melli cover a big three and leave the advantage with Milan. Luau Kebro continued to be the standout on Messina’s side and added a basket outside the arc, scored from the paint and increased the Italian advantage to 32:40, a minute and a half before the end of the half. The yellows continued to miss and went down without a basket after three and a half minutes with Italian advantage of 32:40.
Quarter 3:
Martin scored first points after four minutes without a basket by the Yellows at the beginning of the second half and scored from the three to reduce to only two points. Maccabi’s run continued with their own 0:9 with the great ability of Brown and Martin, but Meli snipe a three-pointer, sank and increased the Italian advantage again. Bonzie Colson with first points tried to get Ketch’s team back into the game, but a huge 3-pointer by Billy Barron gave Milan a double-digit lead. John DiBartholomew scored the first points, Roman Sorkin shot from the paint and the Yellows cut the difference in half. Quarter 4:
The yellow captain sniped from the three and returned the advantage to Ketch’s team. Brown handed out a nice assist to Sorkin who scored twice in a row and Maccabi increased the difference with a 5:22 run calling for a Milan timeout. Barron scored from outside the arc to cut it to just four with four minutes left. The Spanish center of Maccabi snipe from the three, Barun Tsimak for the point and the game remained close entering the last minute. Brown and Sorkin continued to shine andMaccabi Tel Aviv won in the end 71:77.
